In support of the needs of these existing and emerging agricultural ventures, Otsego Now has established the Agricultural Microenterprise Program, a $170,000 fund making available grants of up to $35,000 to assist small businesses (with five or fewer employees including all owners) in financing the costs of starting or expanding their agriculture-related business operations. Grant funds will require a 10% match, and may be used to offset a portion of the working capital, inventory, and machinery/equipment expenses of the business project. Acquisition, construction, or renovation expenses will not be eligible for reimbursement but will be considered, as appropriate, for inclusion as matching expenses.
