Hartwick College was recently named Partner of the Year by Otsego Now, the hub for economic progress of Otsego County. The organization cited the College’s increasing role as an advocate and partner in driving economic growth in Oneonta and the county.
“Hartwick College has a long tradition of supporting the economic development of not only the county but the region at large and beyond,” said Otsego Now Chief Executive Officer Alexander “Sandy” Mathes, Jr. “The launch of its Center for Craft Food & Beverage, its participation as a StartUp New York program campus, and emphasis on creating STEM-based experiential opportunities for its students, are just some of the ways in which the College has continued its leadership role in developing the county’s future. We congratulate them and look forward to working with them in their continued efforts.”
Otsego Now’s partners include a wide range of local and state politicians, departments, and organizations – from Chambers of Commerce to economic development councils – concerned with the economic and social well-being of the county.
“Hartwick College is committed to leveraging our intellectual and educational resources in a way that advantages economic development in the region,” said President Margaret L. Drugovich. “We have developed a strong and positive relationship with Otsego Now and applaud Sandy, Elizabeth Horvath and the Board for their efforts to maximize the region’s notable qualities and attributes. Hartwick College is proud to have been named Otsego Now’s Partner of the Year.”
