May 9, 2016 (Oneonta, NY) – The New York State Economic Development Council (NYSEDC) recently announced that Otsego Now has been named a recipient of several 2016 Marketing, Literature and Promotion Awards. The awards will be presented at the Awards Banquet on Thursday evening, May 26th, during the 2016 NYSEDC Annual Meeting in Cooperstown.
Otsego Now was honored as Best in Class for its fiscal-year 2014 Annual Report, which was distributed at a special meeting of the Otsego County IDA and CRC Board in June 2015. In addition, Otsego Now received a Certificate of Excellence for its Workforce Training Center brochure, and an Honorable Mention for its web site at www.otsegonow.com. All three award-winning pieces were written by staff and designed for Otsego Now by Paperkite Creative of Cooperstown, NY.
“Communication is critical and I am grateful to our staff and Paperkite Creative for helping to get the word out through thoughtful, professional, and well-designed materials,” said Devin Morgan, IDA and CRC Board Chair.
The NYSEDC awards six categories of promotional material: development brochure, printed advertising material, multi-media advertising, printed and electronic newsletter, web site and annual report. Entrants are also divided into budget level categories, so that economic development organizations with smaller budgets are not forced to compete with big budget agencies from larger metropolitan areas of the state. The four marketing experts who judged this year’s entries are Joseph D. Russo of National Grid, Deborah Flack of EP&M Media, Paul Hook of Overit Media, and Dave Homsey of Zone 5.
Copies of the 2014 (and new 2015) Annual Reports and the Workforce Training Center brochure are available at Otsego Now’s offices at 189 Main Street in Oneonta.
