An overall site analysis and redevelopment plan has begun for over 150 acres of rail-supported commercial real estate in the City of Oneonta. Otsego Now will work closely with the City government and local citizens to complete the redevelopment plan. The strategy will bring together rail interests, private property owners, and Otsego Now to develop a vision for multi-modal, transportation-driven “shovel-ready” sites. The work is funded in partnership with the Otsego IDA and NYS Empire State Development.

During 2018, a payment-in-lieu-of-tax (PILOT) agreement was reached between the IDA and the Oneonta Railyard Local Development Corporation.  The agreement calls for the IDA to lease the property from the Local Development Corporation for five (5) years allowing the IDA time to develop the property for a commercial/industrial park containing approximately 80 acres of land located on Roundhouse Road in the City of Oneonta/Town of Oneonta.  Phase I of the redevelopment of the site is the repaving of Roundhouse Road and installation of new solar battery street-lights.  New signage will also be installed.
