PLANT UPGRADE
During 2018, a payment-in-lieu-of-tax (PILOT) agreement was reached between the IDA and Corning to allow Corning to move ahead with an $11 million upgrade to its Oneonta facility. As part of the PILOT, Corning agreed to maintain 175 persons working in the plant for at least 15 years.
Additionally, Corning worked with the IDA in 2019 on their solar array at the plant.
